A Rustic Holiday Color Board

Now that the holidays are here, you may be wondering how you can spruce up a room to reflect festive cheer. While you may not run out to reupholster a sofa just for one holiday, there are plenty of ways to make the holidays work with any fabric choice and the right color board.

Start by getting holiday throws and pillows for your furniture. That will even make the most basic of fabric patterns look festive. The first photo below makes great use of the concept. The red pillows and throws turn even a white sofa festive when combined with a tree.

From there, take a basic color theme and apply it to the rest of the room. The featured color board above from The Pink Bride shows how some basic holiday colors like dark red and green were worked into a wedding décor style. Take the same principle and apply to the rest of the room. Look for red and green items with black accents, like in the photos below. For a rustic feel like in the color board above, look for deep green pine pieces with berry accents.
